Caring for Your New Sod
- Water, water, water!
- You must water the sod on a daily basis for 3-4 weeks at a minimum for one hour to soak very well.
- Watering should not be done in the middle of the day when the sun is at
it's hottest point. We recommend that you water early in the morning or
after sunset.
- Do not mow the lawn for at least 3 weeks. Prior to
your first mowing you must pull the lawn with your hand to make sure
the roots have taken.
- For the first cut you must raise the blades on your mower to it's highest point.
- t's best to avoid walking on your new sod as little as possible, if any, for 2-3 weeks so the roots can take.
Caring for Your Trees
- Trees
should be pruned once a year for low branches to maintain a healthy and
safe environment. They should also be checked for disease annually as
well as fertilized.
Caring for Your Shrubs
- Shrubs should be
trimmed at least twice a season and fertilized so they can grow full
and beautiful. When watering they love a nice slow trickle so it can
soak up into the roots. Mulching is also recommended for the retention
of moisture and nutrients.
Caring for Your Lawn
- Your lawn should
be watered at least twice a week depending on temperature. It should be
fertilized four to five times per season and dethatched and aerated at
least annually.
Caring for Your Flowers
- Flowers need water and food! With proper weeding and dead heading they will thrive.
